Friends of Jordan HS Orchestra Senior Scholarship
The Friends of Jordan HS Orchestra Booster Club is proud to announce the Senior Scholarship Program!!

The scholarship process includes an application, an essay and 2 recommendation letters. Applications will be accepted from April 16, 2025 to April 30, 2025. Recommendations are due along with this application.

Please submit the requested information below to be considered. It is recommended that you prepare your essay in advance to upload it into the application when you are ready to proceed.
Families of student applicants must be at minimum be a "Friend" level member of the Donor Circle. If you have questions, see Mr. Davis. If you need to join the form can be found at Donor Circle Form.

To be eligible for the Senior Orchestra Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Enrollment: Must be a senior at Jordan High School.

Orchestra Participation: Must have participated in the school orchestra program for at least one full academic year.

Academic Standing: Must have a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Recommendation Letters: Must provide two recommendation letters, one from a teacher at Jordan High School and another from a mentor, coach, or employer.

Application Deadline: All application materials must be submitted by April 30, 2025.

Application requirements include an online application form, essay, and 2 letters of recommendation. The online application form requires information about your high school academic record, orchestra participation, other extracurricular activities and an essay prompt.

It is recommended that you prepare your essay in advance to upload it into the application when you are ready to proceed.

Essay Prompt:
In 500 words or less, describe how your experience in the orchestra has shaped your personal and academic growth. How do you plan to continue your musical journey in college and beyond?

Essay Format Requirements:

Essay should be typed using 12 POINT FONT AND SINGLE LINE SPACING.

In the top right header of your document, include your Student KISD ID.
-
DO NOT include your name in the filename, header or body of your essay.
​
Students will need to obtain 2 letter of recommendation to be submitted with the application. One letter must be from a teacher here at JHS. The second individual may be a JHS Faculty Sponsor or JHS Student Organization sponsor, employer, coach, mentor (not related to you), youth worker, or service organization leader.
Please include letters of recommendation with this application. Letters are due by April 30, 2025, along with this application. Applications are not considered complete without letters of recommendation submitted by both recommenders. You will not have the ability to change the names provided below. Please make certain these are two individuals you wish to provide the required letters of recommendation. Also, double-check to confirm that the email addresses you provide below are accurate before submitting this Application Form.
